Síntesis Biográfica

Cautivado por los paisajes infinitos del maestro Armando Villalón, el joven Manuel Brito incursionó en las artes plásticas en 1987 bajo la tutela de “El Pintor de la Bruma”. Comenzó como asistente en su taller, preparando lienzos y pigmentos, mientras el maestro Villalón compartía con el prometedor pupilo sus primeras lecciones en la pintura.

Tan sólo 13 años de edad tenía Manuel Brito cuando aprendió a contemplar con mirada de artista la inmensidad del Valle del Turbio, en su natal Barquisimeto, y la mayor inspiración del maestro Armando Villalón. Con él aprendió el valor de la perspectiva y la profundidad, las dimensiones de la luz y la descomposición del color a partir de la sutileza del trazo.

Pero fueron la paciencia, el orden y la disciplina la mayor enseñanza que puso en práctica Manuel Brito para descifrar su propio mundo en la plástica: “Infantino”, el mayor estudio de su ascendente trayectoria se ha convertido en mucho más que un sello personal. En aquellos amplios salones de pisos relucientes, donde la humanidad cobra vida en los recuerdos lúdicos de la infancia, se puede apreciar la intensa investigación que sobre el volumen, la degradación y el contraste ha desarrollado el artista.

El abordaje plástico de los espacios donde experimenta con la línea y las formas arquitectónicas que desafían la lógica, ha llevado su planteamiento a otro nivel con la incorporación protagónica de los paisajes venezolanos como el Ávila, la Gran Caracas, Marinas y Sabanas, donde las entradas de la luz desencadenan un juego de planos.

A partir de 1996 su nombre comienza a ser mencionado en salones y certámenes de arte de relevancia nacional, que rápidamente le abren las puertas a exposiciones individuales y colectivas en Venezuela como el Ateneo de Cabudare, la Galería Rafael Monasterios de la Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado (UCLA), el Museo Lisandro Alvarado de la Ciudad de El Tocuyo, y el Centro de Convenciones de Lara, entre otras importantes instituciones culturales.

Entre los reconocimientos más destacados en su prometedora carrera artística vale mencionar el Botón Ciudad de Barquisimeto en su única clase, la Medalla de Honor al Mérito otorgada por la UCLA con motivo del Día del Artista Plástico, y el Premio del Sindicato de Profesores en el X Salón de Artes Plásticas Lisandro Alvarado.

Finalmente, el equilibrio y la serenidad de las atmosferas que caracteriza la obra de Manuel Brito han trascendido las fronteras su país natal en 2016, incursionando en el creciente movimiento plástico latinoamericano de Miami, Estados Unidos, gracias a una alianza estratégica entre White’s Art Gallery y VGA Villalón Galería de Arte, representante oficial del artista venezolano.

Biography

Young Manuel Brito, captivated by the endless landscapes of Master Armando Villalon, venturedinto plastic arts in 1987 under the supervision of “The Painter of Mist”. He began as an assistant in his workshop by preparing canvases and mixing pigments while Master Villalon shared with his promising mentee his first painting lessons.

At the age of 13 years old, Manuel Brito learned to contemplate, with the view of an artist, the immensity of the Turbio River in his hometown of Barquisimeto, and the highest inspiration for Master Armando Villalon. With him, Brito learned the value of perspective and depth, the dimensions of light and the color breakdown through the gentleness of the brushstroke.

The main learning that Manuel Brito exercised to decipher his own world in plastic art was patience, order and discipline: “Infantino”, the highest study in his uprising development has become more than a personal seal. On those large rooms with gleaming floors where humanity comes alive with the ludic memories of his youth, the deep investigation on volume, breakdown, and contract that have been developed by the artist can be seen.

The plastic approach of the areas where he experiments with the line and the architectonic shapes that defy logic, and that have taken his approach to another level with the important incorporation of the Venezuelan landscape such as the Avila Mountain, the Great Caracas, Seascapes and the Plains, where the light unleashes a set of images.

Among the most important awards in his promising artistic career it is important to mentionthe Button Award of the City of Barquisimeto, Merit Honor Medal Plastic Artist Day of the UCLA, and the Professors Union Award at the 10thLisandro Alvarado Plastic Artist Exposition.

The equilibrium and serenity of the environment that characterizes the work of Manuel Brito has transcended the frontiers of his country of birth Venezuela and in 2016 he ventured into the growing Latin American plastic movement in Miami, USA by the strategic alliance between White’s Art Gallery and VGA VillalonArt Gallery, the official agent of the Venezuelan artist.
